Girl's Day Bento

Tomorrow March 3rd is Girls Day! Girls day 'Hinamatsuri' is a Japanese Doll Festival.
Platforms covered with a red carpet are used to display a set of ornamental dolls (雛人形 hina-ningyō) representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period.
People display a set of hina dolls and props in the house, wishing girls' healthy growth and happiness. Traditionally, parents or grand parents of a newborn girl buy a set of gorgeous hina dolls unless they have special dolls, which are inherited from generation to generation.
Some of the colors seen on Girls Day are Pink (implies peach flowers), White (implies snow), and Green (implies new growth).
In honor of Girl's day I made a special Bento. I don't have any doll accessories for bento, so I decided to make Hello Kitty in a pink and purple kimono. I also used my nesting boxes for this bento. I haven't used them in a long time, and I liked the bright colors for this bento.
  •  Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup (Homemade Stock, Brown Rice Noodles, Chicken, Spinach, Carrots, Celery, Onion,  Herbs, Garlic)
  • KA*ME Sesame Rice Crackers (I arranged them in a Fan)
Here is Hello Kitty Close Up. Isn't she beautiful in her Pink and Purple Heart Kimono?  I realized after I took the pictures that I folded HK's kimono wrong, because the left is supposed to go over the right... unless you are dressing the dead...OOPS!
  • Cole Slaw Mix (I like to add it to the soup to add some crunch, and to increase the vegetable serving)
  • Kiwi Flowers
  • Hello Kitty (Cheese and Foodsafe Markers. She is wearing a Pink Kimono with a Purple Obi covered in little white hearts.

Well, I got all the colors in my bento, Green, Pink, and White. I hope you liked my Girl's Day Bento!
