Pancake Breakfast Bento

I found some frozen gluten free pancakes at the grocery store last week, and I grabbed then to try. I usually make my own pancakes when I'm in the mood for them, but I thought these frozen ones would be a quick and easy option that I could have when I don't feel like making a mess in the kitchen or spending a long time making breakfast.
I do not eat pancakes like most people do. I never put Maple Syrup on them! Instead I like to add different things to my pancakes each time I eat them. Usually some kind of fruit, and sometimes a little butter and powdered sugar on top.
  • 3 Gluten Free Dairy Free Pancakes
  • 1 Tbsp Teddie Chunky Natural Peanut Butter with Flaxseed
  • 3 Strawberries
  • 3Blackberries
  • 1/2 Small Banana
The pancakes were ok. Definitely nothing like the ones I make myself.  But for a quick heat up breakfast, These pancakes weren't bad. The flavor was good, but the texture was gummy or chewy... Maybe I can heat them in the toaster oven longer next time and see if they crisp up a little bit.
I loved the peanut butter and banana combination for pancakes though. Maybe next time I make pancakes I'll mash some banana into the batter and serve with warm melty peanut butter on top. Yum!

    1. Thank you. The pancakes were ok, and I'll eat them, just not as good as I hoped. But they are a good alternative when I don't feel like making pancakes but I want to eat pancakes. lol

  2. I never used syrup either, not even the sugar free. I'm diabetic, so I would just use a little butter. The syrup was always too sweet.

When my cousins came over from the UK we made pancakes, and they put sugar and lemon juice on them. I didn't try it, because sometimes lemon is too acidic for me but they had never had syrup on pancakes before. I'm not sure if that was just them, as I haven't been to the UK. Anyway, isn't not that odd to not use syrup. Bananas and Strawberries sound good on pancakes. :)

    1. I guess I think it's odd to not add syrup because my family adds syrup, and my fiance's family adds syrup. I'm always looked at oddly when I pass on the Maple Syrup.
