Puppy Dog Bento

Since I made myself a Dog themed bento, I jumped at the chance to make my fiance one as well. She loves dogs, so when she requested hard-boiled eggs I thought of how I could turn this into a doggy bento.

I LOVE the cucumber chain idea. I saw it on another bento blog, and I just had to try it out. I am totally going to make that again. I added a yellow dog pick and 4 bone picks to the bento to get the theme across.

• Puppy Dog (Whole Wheat Bread, Corn Tortilla and Food Coloring Nose, Cheese and Foodsafe Marker Eyes)
• Leash and Collar (Cucumber made into chain link)
• Dog Toy (Light Babybel Cheese)
• Bone (2 Hard-boiled Eggs)

To make the egg bone I cut each egg on a diagonal and then put them back together to make a heart shape. Then I used some picks to put the hearts together to make a bone. I didn't have advanced knowledge about making a bone out of hard-boiled eggs, but next time I am going to use my heart egg shaper so the bone comes out cleaner looking and doesn't have any cuts in it. In the mean time, just use your imagination. ;)
