Eggs & Bunnies Bento

Last Friday, my fiance and I died some eggs for Ostara (A few days late because we were busy) and so I decided to make a bento using one of my died eggs.
Check it out
  • Yogurt Covered Raisins (In the Mini Purple Plastic Egg)
  • Blueberries (On the Leaf Pick)
  • Blackberries (On the White Rabbit Pick)
  • Lg Strawberry
  • Annie's Bunny Fruit Snacks (Berry Patch, in Green Cup)
  • Shredded Carrot 'Nest'
  • Natural Almonds (In the Mini Yellow Plastic Egg)
  • Chopped Cucumber
  • Fresh Spinach 'Nest'
  • Hard Boiled Egg (Died Purple with the Triple Moon Goddess on one side and a Pentagle on the other)
Here is what the bento looks like with the Pentacle.

Here is my salad with the egg peeled and the almonds out of the plastic egg. I ate it with some Light Italian Dressing

  1. AWW! It came out so cute and pretty and colorful and tasty! X-D
What technique did you use for decorating the egg?

    1. Thank you Julie. To color the hard boiled egg I first drew on it using a white/wax crayon, then I dipped the egg into the dye. I had to keep passing the egg back and forth between the purple and the blue dye to get the right color. (In person the egg was a lot deeper purple then in the pictures). I just used one of those egg dying kits that come with little dye pellets you dissolve in water and white vinegar.

    2. Ooooh! I forgot they supplied a wax crayon!
My neighbor growing up used to melt wax somehow and draw with a toothpick, SO detailed! She passed away a long while back, but I wish I had pictures of the beautiful eggs she did each year! <3
      Yours came out awesome! ^_^

  2. Packing things in plastic eggs is a great idea! I don't know why I'm so suprised--that's what they're for--but I never would have thought of that on my own.

My father got pretty involved with hot wax and toothpicks making fancy designs on the eggs he dyed. I think the color on yours is very pretty.

    1. Thank you. Yeah Plastic Easter eggs are made for putting little treats into them, but it's not something you see in many bentos. Maybe I'll start a trend.
