Mardi Gras Snack Bento w/GF King Cake

That's right, I made another Mardi Gras Bento. I've been loving the color combinations, and have been getting creative with the colors and foods.
Anyway, this Mardi Gras Bento has my version of a Gluten Free King Cake!
I tried to have everything match the Mardi Gras colors Green, Gold, and Purple. I even used a Green food cup, and Yellow/gold and Purple/pink Spoon and Fork.
  • Mardi Gras Fruit Salad (See Below)
  • 1 Sunsweet One Prune (Individually wrapped)
  • 2 Tbsp Soynuts (Dry Roasted and Unsalted)
  • Gluten Free King Cake (See Below)
Here is my version of a GF King Cake. A King cake is a type of yeast pasty/bread that has some kind of filling (usually a cinnamon and brown sugar filling) and is topped with icing that is either colors Green/Gold/Purple or sugar in those colors is added to the top of the icing.
Basically my version of a Gluten Free King Cake is to take a Udi's Gluten Free Cinnamon Bun, divide the icing packet into three bowls. Add food coloring to the icing to make Green/Gold/Purple, then spread icing onto the warmed cinnamon bun. And there you have it, a super simple and super delicious GF King Cake for Mardi Gras.
Here is my Mardi Gras Fruit Salad
  • 1 Kiwi (Sliced and peel removed)
  • 10 Purple Grapes (Seedless)
  • 1/2 Clementine [4-5 segments] (Peeled and cut in half. Remove any seeds)
Happy Mardi Gras everyone (That means Fat Tuesday in French). Mardi Gras is the day before Ash Wednesday, and Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent. I am not Catholic, but this year for Lent I am going to give up Candy (Except for sugar free gum) and Baked Goods (Except for breads for sandwiches). I am trying to give up as much added sugar as possible. So I figured Lent is the perfect time to do it.
